The Department of Theatre and Dance offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in both theatre and dance, including a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, and Bachelor of Fine Arts, with concentrations in Acting, Musical Theatre, and Design and Technical Production.

The BA in Theatre is a generalist degree with courses in all areas of theatre. The BFA concentrations offer areas of in-depth study in acting, design and technical production, and musical theatre. Admission to the BA in Dance program and the BFA programs are by audition/interview only. We have an active production season, producing five full-length plays and two musicals a year, in addition to many informal performances.

The Dance program‘s greatest strength is the diversity of classes offered: in addition to virtuosic training in ballet, contemporary dance and jazz, students are offered a wide range of professional skills including choreography, dance for the camera, pedagogy, lighting and sound design, and anatomy. With this breadth of knowledge, students are well placed to achieve a sustainable future in dance, contributing as skilled artists and global citizens.
