Many times we find ourselves wishing for a second chance, longing to stop time to start anew, or wondering what might have happened if we would have said yes instead of no. The problem with these daydreams is that life does not hand us a restart button.
In David Lindsay-Abaire’s comedy “Wonder of the World,” opening Monday at the University of Alabama’s Allen Bales Theatre, the character Cass goes in search of a new and different life. She abruptly and unexpectedly leaves her nervously apologetic husband, Kip, for “mysterious reasons,” to discover who she is in a world without him. What she finds along the way is a cast of interesting and sometimes crude characters who help her learn what it means to be alive
