Production Auditions

Who may audition?

All departmental production auditions are open to the public as well as theatre and dance majors.

How do I audition?

The procedure for auditioning is as follows:

  • Once sign-up sheets are posted on the callboards in Rowand-Johnson Hall, sign up for an audition date/time.
  • Submit ONE completed audition form, which are available at the bottom of this page.
  • Prepare any requested materials and check-in with the stage manager on-site (141 Rowand-Johnson Hall) by 6:00PM on the night of your audition.

When are auditions?

Fall 2017 Productions:  Scheduled for August 22-23, 2017 at 6:30pm.
Callbacks are August 24-25, 2017 at 6pm.

How do I know if I’ve been cast?

Cast lists will be posted on the callboards in Rowand-Johnson Hall.  Casting information is NOT provided online.  Please follow all instructions posted on the callboard regarding acceptance of roles, physical/cosmetic changes, etc.

Fall 2017 Production Auditions - August 22

  • Audition Information Form

    August 22 6:30 pm Gallaway Theatre

    Callbacks: August 24-25 at 6:00 pm

    What to prepare: Prepare at least one monologue (two if desired). You will have 90 seconds total for your audition. Time will be started upon your intro, kept and called. All auditioning theatre majors and minors must present a prepared audition.

    Please bring 3 copies of your resume and headshot to the stage management office (RJ 142) by 3pm on the day of your audition.

    SIGN-UP FOR AUDITIONS ON THE CALLBOARD ACROSS FROM THE MAIN OFFICE-ROWAND JOHNSON MAIN FLOOR. AUDITION FORMS SHOULD BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED ONLINE BY 3PM ON THE DAY OF YOUR AUDITION

    Those auditioning should report to RJ 141 and sign in with the stage manager by 6:00 pm on the day of their audition. ALL REQUESTED MATERIALS must be to the stage management office (RJ 142) by 3pm on the day of your audition.

    OUR TUSCALOOSA, Audition on 8/27 from 1-3pm: A new project in collaboration with UA's Creative Writing Department to performn 3-4 original one-act plays. Rehearsals will be late Fall Semester. A SMALL stipend is available for performances.

    This means you are willing to accept any role in which you are cast. It also means that you will not decline any role for any reason other than an emergency.
  • Are you willing to serve as a swing or understudy? * Required
  • Are you willing to change your appearance? * Required
    (cut hair, dye hair, grow facial hair, etc.)
  • (play title, song title, author, etc.)
  • (i.e. dance training, musical instruments, dialects, juggling, tumbling, ballroom dancing, etc)
  • Please remember to bring 3 copies of your resume and headshot. If you do not have a resume, please list your experience here.
  • Please list here. Only conflicts listed here will be honored if you are cast. Rehearsal generally runs Sunday - Friday 6pm-10pm
